A field of 22 teams competed in the no-entry fee tournament, which launched from the Parkway Marina in Huddleston. The tournament was hosted by Bedford Tourism and the Bedford Area Welcome Center. In FLW and The Bass Federation (TBF) High School Fishing competition, the top 10-percent of teams competing advance to the High School Fishing National Championship.

The top two teams on Smith Mountain Lake that advanced to the 2019 High School Fishing National Championship:

1st: Palisades High School, Kintnersville, Penn. – Brandon Lawson, Kintnersville, Pa., and Parker Lambert, Riegelsville, Pa., five bass, 12-15

2nd: Mendon High School, Pittsford, N.Y. – Rein Golub, Pittsford, N.Y., and Matthew Pitcher, Rochester, N.Y., five bass, 12-0

Rounding out the top 10 teams:

3rd: Madison County High School, Madison, Va. – Brian Canterbury and Spencer Humphrey, both of Madison, Va., five bass, 11-9

4th: Southwest Virginia Junior Anglers – Tyler Altizer and Will Austin, both of Abingdon, Va., four bass, 9-11

5th: Hickory Grove Christian School, Charlotte, N.C. – Trent Lawson, Westfield, N.C., and Aaron Shumaker, Charlotte, N.C., five bass, 9-10

6th: Frederick County High School, Frederick County, Md. – Kooper Anderson, Clear Brook, Va., and Hayden Hedrick, Stephens City, Va., four bass, 8-7

7th: Heritage High School, Lynchburg, Va. – Cohen Naulty and Mason Dudley, both of Lynchburg, Va., four bass, 7-13

8th: Christian Life Academy, Woodland Heights, Penn. – Jacob Black, Oil City, Pa., and Caleb Glancy, Utica, Pa., three bass, 7-5

9th: Anthony Wayne High School, Whitehouse, Ohio – Elliot Wielgopolski, Waterville, Ohio, and Caleb Dachenhaus, Whitehouse, Ohio, three bass, 5-2

10th: Long Creek Anglers – Macey Miller and Luke Miller, both of Richfield, N.C., two bass, 5-2
